Now that Dr.Holliday is leaving, I strongly urge you to look closely at the replacement for his job. Not only the immediate one but the person that will replace him full time. We need someone who has been in the system and has strong ties to our community. Not someone who will come, make a name for themselves on the backs of our employees and students, and then leave for greener pastures. I am sure that you are aware of the unrest in our schools and community because of the Baldrige program. I ask that you not hand over the reins to someone who will continue to force our teachers to use a program that so many of them are unhappy with, but will look for someone who has had success without this stress. I also hope that you will make it possible for the citizens of Iredell County to have an input into the process.
Thank you for your time,

Perfect letter but we need some way to get input from the employees.
ReplyDeleteIf someone could organize a petition...there is strength in numbers. It is likely, though that many teachers worry that if efforts are unsuccessful and misguided Baldrige proponents remain in charge, there will be retribution if they speak their minds.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right. Fear of a tyrant has been going on for several years and it is still hard to believe that there are still others like him out there.
ReplyDeleteWe need our parents to do something. Get all of our PTO officers to organize the petitions that say we all want input. We do want the trust back in the ISS system that has been gone for so long. This can help the morale of this system, and we did elect these people(BOE) so they definitely need our input.
Excellent idea! Students are the ones who lose the most with Baldrige...it is their education that gets cheated and short-changed. Parents ought to be up in arms about the prospect of the Baldrige debacle continuing to plague the classrooms of their students.
ReplyDeletePTO parent involvement in organizing petitions is a great idea. S'ville R&L has proven to be nothing more than a pro-Baldrige megaphone with its so-called "reporting"...What unbiased source of information do the citizens of Iredell County have? Right now, the people have no voice. The R&L only listens to the BoE, reporting with no investigation whatsoever whatever the BoE tells them...and the BoE only listens to the I-SS administration.
Did you ever get a response from any BoE Members?
ReplyDeleteNo I did not.
