I-SS has 40% more Central Office administrators then Davidson County Schools while having only 3% more students.
Dr. Holliday has continually said that I-SS has a lower administrative cost than that of comparably sized schools. It seems like he is being very 'creative' with his statistics.
as always..."data" can be manipulated to get the desired result...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely data can be manipulated. You honestly think Davidson County and Buncombe County aren't manipulating that data? I know for a fact your numbers aren't correct. But then, I'm beginning to think the authors of this blog are as seasoned at manipulating data as they believe I-SS administrators are. I do hope readers of this ridiculous blog will keep in mind that most of the people speaking out against the school district represent a very small but vocal and uninformed minority.
ReplyDeleteHello July 6, 2009 10:33 PM - I hope you realize there is an effort to informe the uninformed majority. The local newspaper (SR&L) and Holliday have joined into an alliance that ia against the will of the uniformed. You call this blog "ridiculous". Sorry, my uninformed adversary, it is you and the SR&L that are "ridiculous". Now you accuse Davidson and Buncombe counties of being corrupt and manipulating! So does that mean that all citizens of all communities should be skeptical of their leadership of their school systems. I am afraid that it is you that are in slumber and the citizens are being awakened. Thank you kindly.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Manipulated?
ReplyDeleteSchool systems are public entities whose number of employees, and their respective salaries are out there for all to see.
I'd like to see the actual DOLLARS $$$ being spent on administration compared, as well.
'Leadership' is forever telling teachers to 'work smarter, not harder' it seems I-SS should apply their own mantra to themselves, and get rid of all the redundant, and therefore unnecessary, very expensive layers of I-SS administrators.
If the system has extra money, it should be put directly into the classrooms...remember those? That's where the students are.
