Area Advisory Notes

On Tuesday I received an e-mail from Dawn Creason that included Paul Hultberg’s notes from the Area Advisory meetings. They are listed as notes not as reports. The notes first list the issues posted on the Plus/Delta chart that was created at the end of the meeting.
Following this is the list of the participant’s suggestions given when asked to identify the pressing issues for the superintendent to address. After the various suggestions were sorted by category and summarized each participant was given four sticky dots to vote for what they felt were the most important suggestions. This list also includes the tally of the points or votes for each item.

The last part of the notes includes the suggestions for the strengths and characteristics that the new superintendent should possess. The participants were also given four sticky dots to vote in each of these categories and those tallies are included.

In an e-mail reply to Dawn Creason, I asked if there was going to be an overall report and if these notes are going to be posted on the I-SS web site. I have not yet received a reply to those questions.

I also received an e-mail from Mr. Johnson stating that he shared the feedback from the advisory meetings with certified and classified staff advisory groups last week. I assume that these advisory notes are the feedback to which he was referring.

UPDATE: The area advisory notes are now available on the I-SS web site. You can access the notes on the I-SS web site by clicking on the link below or you can click on the images below to see an enlarged image of the individual Pages.

  1. More waste of tax payers money and more time away from our students. Thanks Paul for requesting more useless information!

  2. Nov. 18, 10:19 PM - This information was gathered at five different meetings. Many parents, teachers, administrators, and community members participated at these meetings. The participants were not only asked what characteristics the new superintendent should possess, they were also asked to list what priorities the school system should address. To state that this is useless information would seem to be very petty and narrow minded.

  3. To Nov 18 10:19pm thank you for your ignorant post. Thank you for the waste of space you occupied on this blog. Perhaps you are not aware of the "waste" that ISS has spent. Perhaps you don't care. There are taxpayers out there that do care and who are grateful to people like Paul that take their time and consequently their money to pursue items like this. If you don't agree with it, that's fine, don't waste our time calling his efforts useless.

  4. It must be an Easley supporter who does not like for the truth to be told. If you don't like what Paul says, then go to another blog. Some people are narrow-minded but do not think so. Their philsophy usually is my way or no way. You disagree when others have different opinions because you are a manipulator. Get your own blog for your negative comments.

  5. Paul, since this information was listed as just "notes" and not a formal report, does that mean that ISS does not owe money to the above parties? How much if any do they owe for just notes and not a formal report. We need to see the contract...if it exists. I also question the post from 10:19, "a waste of taxpayers money and more time away from our students". First, if they were transparent in their dealings there would be no cost to taxpayers for information. It's either there or it's not. Perhaps a couple of dollars for copies, unless or course there is something to hide. (whether there is something to hide or not, they give that impression with their responses). Were is the big cost? Second, "more time away from our students"? I don't think teachers, TA's, IFs or principals are being asked to recreate this data. It seems that producting data should be an easy feat from an organization that thrives on data.

  6. I received two e-mails from Mr. Johnson yesterday. The first stated that these notes/reports were the extent of the data received from Mr. Hultberg. The second was that Susie had received Mr. Hultberg's summary report that morning. I am assuming that Susie is Susie Wiberg, I-SS Partnership Director. Mr. Johnson added that he would forward me a copy of the report but I have not yet received it. I will share the report when I receive it.
