The Rick Baker Show

Rick Baker has been discussing several issues regarding ISS on his radio show. His show airs weekdays from 3 to 6 PM on WSIC. Rick is recommending that everyone in Iredell County attend the next School Board meeting.  For more information you can go to Rick's web site using the following link.

  1. Paul, I've listened to some of the shows and I really feel that he is putting ratings before getting to the truth. It's all great sensationalism, but throwing people's names out there without any respect for due process and fairness worries me. I am a former employee of ISS and I know that things are not perfect, especially in the Holiday days, but there are many, many hard working people in ISS who all suffer when these types of allegations come out.
Just wanted your take on all of this, because I know you've done a lot to keep ISS honest.
    Thanks,

  2. If you listen to the programs, which I have done by going back and listening to the recorded versions, there is just so much detailed evidence of wrongdoing that it is impossible to ignore, or to just say it is all made up.

I sincerely hope that these matters are investigated in full, and that the individuals responsible, and their supervisors, are brought to account- and this needs to be more than just moving people to another school.

  3. I certainly do not agree with everything that Mr. Baker says on his show. It is true that he does often sensationalize the information that he shares on the show. Of course, as a radio personality, that is part of his job. He does seem to have access to some information that would seem to indicate that some ISS employees have acted inapropriately. These actions need to be thouroughly investigated. However, as was pointed out in the first comment to this post, there are many honest ISS employees who go the extra mile to make sure that the students receive a quality education.
