If Mr. Ellis is going back to Human Resources will he return to his old position of Executive Director of Human Resources? And, if so, will Bill Long go back to his previous position. Also, will they revert to their previous salaries as Mr. Johnson promised.
The advertisement for the Executive Director position has a couple of interesting statements. First it simply states State Salary Schedule as the salary for the position. As we know all I-SS Central Office administrators are paid more than the State Salary Schedule amount and I would imagine that this individual will be paid more as well. Also the advertisement includes the statement that if the position is filled by an employee transferring, then this vacancy announcement will serve as notice for that vacancy. I do not know if that is a standard statement on I-SS applications, but to me it sounds like they already have someone in mind for the position as well as someone in mind for that person's position. In addition, how can this be considered an advertisement for the second position unless they already know what that position is?
In my previous post regarding the media specialists at SHS, I included Mr. Rogers' comment that the two media specialists will be shared between SHS and Third Creek Elementary. If the administration feels that sharing media specialists between schools is an acceptable solution why don’t they just share the duties of the Executive Director of Secondary Curriculum between two or more of the current administrators? If sharing is good enough for the students shouldn’t it be good enough for administrators?

That is a standard statement on postings, Paul.
I have heard that...
ReplyDeleteI do not know if this indeed true...
So it would seem...
I would imagine...
I do not know...
Sounds like...
Al taken from the original post, all speculation, all guesswork, all stirring the pot because you don't have anything else to look forward to in life except trying to be important by inventing problems.
Let us teach and work our problems out ourselves Paul. You are only wasting valuable administration time and making things worse.
Above hates for anyone to ask questions. Everyone has a right to question and perhaps, be answered. American democracy is a democracy, although our school system seem to be more of a dictatorship.
ReplyDeleteIt does appear that some want no questioning -- just let the poor management and blatant hypocrisy continue. Pay no attention to the fact that the only ones NOT suffering during the budget crisis are are part of the top layer of administration and the IF's.
ReplyDeleteThank you for continuing to keep us informed, Paul.
If you want information from someone who repeats what they heard through the grapevine, does not know, reports what seems, what he imagines, again what he doesn't know and what things sound like, go for it.
ReplyDeleteSunlight, glorious sunlight!
ReplyDeleteSome would love for the inner workings of the I-SS CO to go unnoticed, unquestioned -- they want everyone to just 'trust' that the upper admin of I-SS will do the right thing with tax-payer funds.
As all can clearly see --- as evidenced by the double-digit raises for those already earning hefty six-figure salaries while NC is in the midst of a budget crisis, and by the duplicitousness of saying one thing and then doing another --- they cannot be trusted to do the right thing for the students of I-SS.
So, we free thinkers will continue to question.
In the absence of a real newspaper --- which would inform the public about the mismanagement of their tax dollars, and about how I-SS upper admins look out for their own well-being, instead of that of I-SS students --- the citizens of Iredell County are fortunate to have Mr. Klaene.
Rumors can lead to lies, but also the truth can come out.

Earlier today I sent Dawn Creason an e-mail asking her if Mr. Ellis and Mr. Long have gone back to their previous positions and salaries. I also asked about the Executive Director of Secondary Curriculum position. I received the following response from Ms. Creason.
ReplyDeleteMr. Klaene,
Both Mr. Ellis and Mr. Long have returned to their previous positions, as well as their previous salaries.
Additionally, I-SS will be interviewing candidates for the executive director of secondary ed/CTA this Thursday.
Thank you,
dc
There is no money to hire a replacement media specialist for Third Creek Elementary but there is money for a replacement administrator at the Central Office. Is this really in the best interest of the students?
Interesting...the organizational chart has not been updated to reflect the above changes.
ReplyDeleteI hope noone wasted their time at tonight's meeting. It was nothing but another sales jobs for Baldridge.
